A fashion designer, entrepreneur, artist, and DJ who has been the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear collection since March 2018. Virgil is most known for his Milan-Based Lebel OFF-WHITE And his collabration with Kanye West. During his collaborative work with the rapper and designer, he caught the eye of the Louis Vuitton CEO, Michael Burke, through his work at Fendi. Where Abloh interned in the same class as rapper Kanye West in 2009. Placed in the company’s Rome, Italy office, the two began a collaborative relationship.  

A year later, West appointed Abloh the creative director of his creative agency, DONDA. In 2011, West asked him to serve as the artistic director for the 2011 Jay-Z/West album Watch the Throne. 

In 2012, Abloh launched his first company, Pyrex Vision. Abloh purchased deadstock clothing from Ralph Lauren for $40, screen-printed designs on them and sold them for prices upward of $550. The stated goal of Pyrex Vision was to represent the importance of youth culture, by centering the designs around a garment that most youth would notice from gym class.

Abloh founded his first fashion house and second business overall in 2013 with the high-end street-wear brand OFF-WHITE. By Abloh it’s described as “the gray area between Black and White as the color OFFWHITE”

His apparel beginning in Paris, then expanding to China, Tokyo, Japan and the United States. He launched the company’s women’s wear line in 2014 and showed the collections at the Paris Fashion Week.  His line was selected as a finalist for the LVMH Prize, an industry award, but lost to Marques’Almeida and Jacquemus.

NIKE x OFF-WHITE

He was asked to design a new collection in conjunction with Nike entitled “The Ten” where he re-designed a variety of the company’s best-selling shoes. Through Abloh’s re-designing he exercised his self-made rule of only editing the shoes 3% of the way because he was intrigued by still maintaining the original design of the shoe. 

When Nike and Off-White announced their OG ‘The Ten’ pack, it sent shockwaves through the sneakerverse. Not only were some of the most iconic Nike sneakers in the brand’s 55-year history about to get a re-release, but they also came with an ultra-modern twist that incorporated en-vogue themes of the industrial and the ironic. As well as shining a light on kicks that hadn’t been cool in a minute, namely the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Presto, the release also shone a spotlight on Nike’s latest silhouette.

OFF-WHITE x IKEA

Virgil also partnered up with the Swedish furniture company IKEA to design furniture for apartments and houses also easy to carry tote bags imprinted sculptures in the middle. 

The collection will be named Markerad, which is a Swedish word meaning “clear-cut; crisp; pronounced”, and is scheduled to release in 2019.

Louis Vuitton

On March 25, 2018, Abloh was named artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear ready wear line, marking him the first person of African descent to lead the brand’s menswear line, as well as one of the few black designers at the helm of a major French fashion house. Upon his acceptance of the position, he stated, “It is an honor for me to accept this position. I find the heritage and creative integrity of the house are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times”.

Abloh showed his first collection for Louis Vuitton at the 2018 Men’s Fashion Week at the Palais-Royal gardens in Paris.
 Rihanna was the first person to wear Abloh before the show. Playboi Carti, Steve Lacy, A$AP Nast, Dev Hynes, and Kid Cudi walked for the fashion show.

On June 5, 2018, Virgil Abloh released a special collaboration with the luggage manufacturer Rimowa, a transparent suitcase in limited edition.

In 2019, Abloh was appointed to the board of directors of The Council of Fashion Designers of America. The council seeks to promote the American fashion industry.

Forbes magazine just announced that Cristiano Ronaldo had become the first Football player in history to become a billionaire. He is the first football player in history to pass this bar . No wonder when you know how much footballers can get paid today.
For several years, sport has been a profession of passion, of course, but also a profession that earns very large sums of money . Proof of this is with Cristiano Ronaldo. Not just Cristiano Ronaldo has a staggering salary , Leo Messi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé or Gareth Bale also earn very large sums of money.

“With the additional [$71 million] he makes as a walking billboard, pitching products head to toe for the likes of Nike and his CR7 line of underwear, footwear, and cologne, Ronaldo can still earn [$145.8 million] annually to retain his standing among the best-paid in all of sports, and still become the third active athlete to crack the USD $1 billion mark in career earnings at the end of this season,” Settimi said.

Passing over USD $1 billion in career earnings will align Ronaldo with the likes of Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather as active billionaire sportsmen, after Woods passed the mark in 2009 and Mayweather in 2017.

While his earnings totalled $172 million in 2019, he still remains the second highest-paid athlete in the world behind Lionel Messi, who earned $200 million.

Amid the suspension to Italian Serie A competition due to concerns surrounding Coronavirus, Ronaldo’s club Juventus, announced it reached an agreement with its players and coaches to save around $158 million by reducing compensation over four months, from March to June.
